Gilley’s announces September free entertainment lineup

Artists include Grant Gilbert, Taylor Austin Dye, The Weathered Souls

DURANT, Okla. (August 30, 2023)- If you’re a music lover, Gilley’s inside Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant is the place to be every Friday and Saturday night in September.

With free live music two nights a week, Gilley’s is the perfect place to find your new favorite artist or catch a local legend taking the stage. Get to Gilley’s early to enjoy the house DJ, who begins performing at 7 p.m., and stay for the live music starting at 9:30 p.m.

Friday, September 1

Grant Gilbert is a rising star from Santo, Texas, who gained popularity while performing in bars around Lubbock, Texas. Gilbert’s lively stage presence didn’t go unnoticed.

Gilbert took his talents to Nashville, where he’s released multiple singles as an independent artist. Singles “She Goes Home (Dirty Breakup Song),” “God & Everyone,” and “What’s Stopping Us” have combined for nearly two million streams on Spotify, and Gilbert has released another string of singles since then. His most recent releases include “Six Pack State of Mind” and “Take Me Out To The Bar.”

Saturday, September 2

Jonathan Terrell is a country artist from east Texas who spent time as the frontman for a rock band called “Not in the Face.” While in the band, Terrell continued to pursue a solo career and went on to release albums “Trials & Stimulations,” “Past the Lights of Town,” and “Westward.” Terrell’s most recent release is the 2022 EP “A Couple, 2, 3,” which showcases his strong, poignant songwriting.

Friday, September 8 and Saturday, September 9

Taylor Austin Dye is a country musician preparing to release her debut album, “Out of These Hills,” on September 22.  Leading up to the album, she’s released two singles in 2023 – “Bible Belt” and “Rest in Peace.” “Rest in Peace” became a fan favorite on social media, earning Dye a large following on TikTok and boosting her fan base just in time for her album to be released.

Friday, September 15

Logan Crosby is a country artist from Georgia who gained popularity from TikTok. Crosby initially recorded videos covering other artists’ songs, then transitioned into performing original music once a week. He’s since released multiple singles.

Crosby is also known for being featured on the ABC show “Claim to Fame” due to his famous cousin, who happens to be country music star Jason Aldean.

Saturday, September 16

Ben Chapman started 2023 off on a good note. He released an album, “Amber Sound, Vol. 1,” and was part of Lainey Wilson’s “Country With A Flare” tour. Now, Chapman is bouncing around the United States promoting his album for the remainder of 2023, and Durant is the only Oklahoma town he will be stopping in.

Friday, September 22

Wyatt Flores is an artist from Oklahoma who’s preparing to release his debut album in 2023. Flores began releasing music in the spring of 2021, when he dropped his debut single “Travelin’ Kid.” He went on to play the bar scene in Stillwater before moving to Nashville in 2022. He’s released a number of singles since arriving in Tennessee, and he’s currently touring in the lead up to his album.

Saturday, September 23

The Weathered Souls is a recently-formed southern rock band from Greenville, Texas, that’s opened for Whiskey Meyers and Read Southall Band. They’re currently touring to promote their 2023 debut album “Till The Morning Comes.”

Friday, September 29

Don Stalling & The Divided is a country/rock band that formed in 2018 before releasing its debut album, “The Hunt,” in 2020. The group takes inspiration from a number of genres, resulting in classic country sounds with rock energy. They’ve opened for Parker McCollum, Josh Abbott and Treaty Oak Revival. The band is currently touring through Oklahoma and Texas until the end of November.

Saturday, September 30

Hayden Haddock is coming off of three Texas Country Radio top 15 singles, including a cover of Dwight Yoakum’s “Fast As You.” A Texas A&M graduate, Haddock has over six million streams and was featured on Spotify’s “Texas Music Now” playlist. He’s released two albums so far – 2018’s “First Rodeo” and 2020’s “Red Dirt Texas.” He’s touring his way through Texas right now, only leaving the state to stop in Durant and make one stop in New Mexico before returning to the Texas music scene.
