Now Open: The District– Idabel

IDABEL, Okla. (October 30, 2020) – McCurtain County’s newest entertainment venue, The District, opened Wednesday, Oct. 21. The District is a premier destination for family fun and entertainment complete with 10 bowling lanes, a 34-game arcade, 2 party rooms and a snack bar.
A ribbon cutting marked the grand opening of the entertainment facility on Thursday, Oct. 22 with Chief Gary Batton, Tribal Councilman Thomas Williston and The District employees.
“We’re so excited to finally be open and ready for a busy holiday season,” states Amy Davis, General Manager of Choctaw Casino – Idabel. “We have crowd-pleasing entertainment options, food and hopefully a great time to be had with family and friends!”
The remodeled space in the Idabel Shopping Center was mainly used for storage, but Choctaw Nation invested more than $5 million into the project and now is able to offer a local, premiere entertainment destination to families in the area.
“We selected this area because we saw a need to offer our young a different avenue for entertainment,” states Thomas Williston, Choctaw Nation Tribal Councilman. “The District has been a huge success for the community of Durant, and we wanted provide that same experience to the families in the southeast corner of the Choctaw territories.”
The District – Idabel will operate Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until midnight. and on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
