DURANT, Okla. (Jan. 13, 2025)- Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant is ready to celebrate the Year of the Snake with fun, festive events in Southeast Oklahoma and North Texas this Lunar New Year.

While Lunar New Year is on Jan. 29, Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant will be hosting celebrations that embody the transformative nature of the Year of the Snake from Jan. 17-31.

Asia Times Square in Grand Prairie– Jan. 17-19

Visit Asia Times Square in Grand Prairie, Texas, Jan. 17-19 for an immersive Lunar New Year celebration. Guests can play blackjack, baccarat and craps and snap a selfie with a large, iridescent snake sculpture. The event will also feature an origami artist demonstration, and guests will leave with their own origami kit to try at home. A refreshing Lunar New Year Green Charm tea, a blend of jasmine tea and lychee, will be available, and guests can watch a tanghulu, a classic Chinese street food made by coating fresh fruit in a candied sugar coating, making demonstration before biting into the sweet snack.

Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant will be set up at Asia Times Square on Jan. 17 from 5-9 p.m. and Jan. 18 and 19 from 1-9 p.m.

Stonebriar Centre in  Jan. 24-26

From Jan. 24-26, the large Lunar New Year iridescent snake sculpture will be set up inside Stonebriar Centre in Frisco, Texas. Guests can take a photo with the sculpture and pick up an iridescent envelope to win up to $168 in free play and 28 percent off a stay.

Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant will be set up near Dick’s Sporting Goods on Jan. 24 from 5-8 p.m. on Jan. 25, 12-8 p.m. Jan. 26 from 12-6 p.m.

The Year of the Snake brings new fortunes and prosperity and Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant is going all out to celebrate Lunar New Year with six days of interactive  experiences. During the celebration, the first 100 guests to sign up for the Choctaw Rewards Club will receive a custom-designed sweatshirt featuring the illustrations of award-winning Filipino American artist Jayson Atienza known for his visual design work with a number of iconic brands worldwide.

On Jan. 26 from 4 p.m.-12 a.m. the Grand Theater will feature an origami artist demonstration with take-home origami kits, as well as a one-of-a-kind 3D mural from artist Ash Chen. –

The concert will feature vibrant melodies and rich cultural heritage of Vietnam with a prestigious lineup including My Linh, Nguyen Hung, Huong Lan, Thanh Ha, Khang Viet, Myra Tran, The New Wave Royal and The Brothers Band. From Jan. 27-31 between 3-9 p.m., guests can experience the 3D mural and take photos with the snake sculpture.
