Southern Methodist University Soccer Player wins World Series of Poker Circuit Main Event

Twenty-one-year-old Harvey Castro walks away with $275,660
DURANT, Okla. (August 7, 2023)- Last week, 21-year-old Southern Methodist University soccer player Harvey Castro won the main event at the World Series of Poker Circuit inside Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant.
Castro, originally from Flower Mound, Texas, bested 1,025 other players to secure $275,660 of a $1.5 million prize pool. Castro’s win also secured him a spot in the invitation-only Tournament of Champions in Las Vegas in 2024.
Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant hosted the World Series of Poker Circuit from July 12 to July 30, and over the course of two and a half weeks dozens of players walked away with thousands in winnings.
